Lynsted with Teynham WI
We are your local WI Group and meet on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Teynham Community Hall between 2-4 pm. We share ideas, listen to talks, enjoy an occasional quiz and always finish with a cup of tea and a piece of cake. Our talks in 2024 were wide ranging and varied and covered issues such as the care of hedgehogs, articles made from used fire hoses and the baby boomer years of the 50s and 60s. Our 2025 programme will include a talk about the Big Cat Sanctuary in Smarden, the second instalment of the baby boomer years and advice from Swale BC on recycling. In addition we arrange outings to shows and trips around the coast and support the local youngsters in their catering course at the Skills Centre in Sittingbourne. We also support the local community by assisting at the Drop In Café at the Community Hall in Teynham once a fortnight. We get the opportunity to help make a difference nationally with the aid of our resolutions programme on clean rivers, climate change, keeping Britain Tidy etc. but our main aim is to advance the education of women and girls.
If you would like to join us, you can just turn up or contact the Secretary, Mrs Chris Garland on 07803 394754 or email lynstedwteynhamwi@hotmail.com for more information. All ages welcome.
